choconets goes wild

choconet - the lio-gib-iger-tortoise what's wild about me?
African Lion mane - Looking good! Male African lions use their thick, dark manes to attract mates. well, i'm female but that doesn't matter. my family and boyfriend sometimes tell me that i look like a lion because of my wild hair.
Gibbon arms - Your Gibbon arms are designed especially for swinging in trees. With these arms you can jump distances of over 20 feet from branch to branch. they looked most human-like. i think that's useful.
Siberian tiger legs - You are a very hairy tiger. Siberian tigers have thicker and longer hair than most tigers because they live in Siberia, where average temperatures get as low as -5ºF. Good thing you have a warm coat. and i'm fast.
Radiated tortoise shell - Why is your Radiated tortoise shell shaped like a dome? Scientists think the shell's shape helps tortoises flip over whenever they get stuck on their back. i have a tortoise myself and this shell is quite useful as well - you always come back down to earth.

what's wild about you?

kassel

i'm back from my culture weekend and can present a few photos. as announced, i went to kassel (hesse, germany) to see contemporary art.
the documenta is one of the world's most important exhibitions of modern art which takes place every five years in kassel. it was founded by artist, teacher and curator arnold bode in 1955. choconet is waiting to get into one of the exhibition houses...
with hundreds of other visitorsother exhibition places weren't that crowded
i want that for my living room! love it!
cosima von bonin (*1962, mombasa)"relax, it's only a ghost".
ai weiwei (*1957, beijing) "template" - old chinese doors.
on 20th june wind and rain in kassel destroyed his art project (see the original here) but now he likes it even better.
for those who can read chinese: ai weiwei has a blog.

bulls run in spain

i like traditions. that is just something, i cannot understand.

"They don't know what they're doing; bulls can kill," said Ruben Munoz, 24, from Madrid, who has run with the bulls during each of the last five years. "I do it for the adrenaline and because I feel liberated." (source: cnn).
aha. *bigquestionmarkinmyhead* do you feel liberated with bulls behind you who might kill you? i don't see where the fun is torturing animals. and the 10,000 spectators are not better - they're waiting for the first person who gets gored (a few hours ago it was an australian man).
today was the first day of the "festival" and already more thn 100 people were injured. since 1924 13 people have died. i don't want to know how many have been injured during that time and how many bulls were killed. stupid tradition.

*grumble*

i love animals and i'd like to have a dog if i would live in a house in the countryside. but
a) i have no money for a dog
b) i live in a flat
c) i live in a city
and i just hate it when all green areas in the city, which are actually for the stressed city-people, are full with dog sh*. ok, accept it.

i can understand elderly people who have lost their partner and want somebody to live with them. they buy a dog. ok, accept it.
now my neighbours bought a dog (they are young!) although it's forbidden in our flats to have a dog. ok, accept it.
that dog is still so small that he sometimes comes through the small chink which is between our balconies. ok, accept it.
but today he came through the chink again and sh* on our balcony! not ok!
why can't those ignorant affluent-industrialized-nation-people (i am including myself here) put their money into something else than a dog? with that money they could feed a child somewhere else...

my first wordless wednesday

this sculpture by henry moore in the dutch hoge veluwe national park reminded me of the english yorkshire sculpture park (i've been there twice so far and i will definitely go there again), where all sculptures are created by henry moore. should you visit england accidentally (or intentionally) one day, visit this park - it's worth it and FREE!
well, this post is not completely wordless but was created for wordless wednesday
