a perm? no, thanks

yesterday, i had a dress rehearsal for a tv film which will be shot in my city. it's a film in the 80ies, so everyone got an odd haircut and so did i. when the make-up artist saw my hair she was delighted with the natural curls. a few minutes later i had some curlers in my hair and 15min later i just looked disastrous. meet grandma choconet:

smiling, she said to me: "say you like it or you get a perm!".
and so, in the end, i liked it.
looking forward to the day of shooting in june... but not the haircut and the clothes (a pink shirt and a pair of light blue jeans with a studded belt).

too good

my belly is filled with popcorn after watching ocean's thirteen but before i go offline (because of all the lightnings outside) i'd like to show you the solution to my question.
thanks for all the responses. you guys are sooooo good. yes, it's a box for keeping your banana safe when you're at work or somewhere else so that it doesn't get squashed.

well stacy, it's also a suitable form for a phone. let's suggest it to some designers!
and beaman, yeah, a toy for monkeys would also be possible.

very clever

it's very clever not having a charged battery for your laptop when you have a presentation the next day and need to prepare something on your computer in the evening but you cannot because you have to switch it off due to a thunderstorm (we had a lot recently and they lasted very long - with hail).

[note for me: always charge battery after watching movies with your laptop.]

home berlinale

what have i been doing at the weekend? watched (actually still watching) lots of dvds with a borrowed video projector. having this luxury of a home cinema is so fantastic (wanna have it forever!)! technically, we have the projector coz we wanna do a presentation of our usa photos from september last year - that's already our 2nd presentation so if you're interested in seeing the photos, too, then we can certainly arrange a 3rd presentation, i will have the projector for the next 2 weeks (also feel free to watch films with me). :)

our video marathon is also an opposition to the german film festival "berlinale" taking place at the moment.

here watching "open water"

nonreflective consumer society?

watched an austrian film about food at the cinema today. actually, it was a documentary (my 2nd documentary about food after "super size me") called "our daily bread" without comments. it showed an appalling picture of our modern food production and consumer society: monotonous assembly belt production, penned up chickens and beef... sorry, cows which were maltreated with cartidge hammers - everything in a very sterile environment. on the other hand, they showed the mass production of fruits and vegetables with lots of fertilizers. it wasn't scandalising but still a film to think about your eating habits.
the film was supported by (among others)
“Devastating! A must-see!" The New York Times
